During her time in Delhi, Sarah Zaman had the opportunity to participate in a special impromptu session at the home of friends and fellow artists, Akram and Huma. The couple had invited Pathane Khan, a renowned Sufi singer, to visit, and Sarah was invited to join them. The gathering became a spontaneous musical exchange, where Sarah Zaman performed alongside Pathane Khan, singing Punjabi Kalam of the Sufis—a tradition she had deeply immersed herself in through the teachings of Najam Hussain Syed Sahib at his Punjabi literature baithak (Sangat). This intimate session, blending Sarah’s deep connection to Sufi poetry and music, was a beautiful reflection of the cultural and artistic ties that transcended borders during her journey in India.
